I used an ftp client to upload my first blog it was a nightmare to say the least in fact I still have some issues with it, wow this way is so much more easy I didn’t even know that existed…

I agree, using an auto-installer like Fantastico is the way to go. It will save you a lot of time and hassle. The first time I had to install WordPress I did’nt know about auto-installers so I tried to do it manually. Needless to say, I ran into difficulty and I contacted my host. It turned out they provided Fantastico, and they suggested I use that instead. Using Fantastico makes installation a breeze.
